@ladygaga: A true Venus is beautiful at any size. #BodyRevolution Don’t allow society to tell you want beauty is. Back when they first made paintings and sculptures of the goddess, she was represented as a round and fertile woman. It was “in style” to be thicker because food was a sign of wealth. Eat up, children. Life is too short.

Last night a young man asked me to send him some nude photos of myself. I respectfully declined his request and the response he gave me was quite chilling, he called me an ugly bitch

Now mind you, I’m not at all phased or bothered by him calling me that because I know I’m an educated, gorgeous, ambitious, curvaceous, black woman, but it just puzzles me how he was begging for my beautiful body in the beginning but once he was rejected then he became word and started to call me horrible names!

Of course, it’s just one of those things that infuriates me about society. A woman that respects her body and chooses to keep it private or for a special one to see is seen as a stuck up bitch but when a woman confidently bares her skin for people to see, she is seen as a whore, slut, or any other demeaning, derogatory word for that matter.

It’s so heartbreaking, but I hope that nobody I know has to go through this. Always remember to surround yourself with people that love, respect, and treasure you, regulate rules for your body because if it’s yours nobody has the right to tell you how to treat it, and finally, never allow people get the best of you, words can have a long lasting effect whether it’s positive or negative, but don’t allow those words let you think you’re lesser than what you truly are.

This is the photo of the day for sure! Too cute!

A representation of a Black family where the wife isn’t lighter than her husband and the little girl isn’t biracial.
